Kaloko Manka Subdivision a May 16, 2006
Remaining Forest:
Exhibit 1: This is a before picture. Looks like a park. This park like
setting is filled with indigenous birds and plants. Some are endangered.
None have anywhere to go after the forest is destroyed. There is ranch land
on either side of this remaining forest, a strip from Mamalahoa to the forest
line on Hualalai.

Exhibit 2: 'T'hese are pictures of what an earlier subdivision looks like.
Many residents, on lots or new subdivisions, have gated against intrusion,
partly because of lack of enforcement of laws such as illegal `dwellings' or
campgrounds.

Exhibit 3: These are pictures of current subdivisions within our
subdivision. As you can see, they are not little low-key, family oriented,
only on paper divisions.

Exhibit 4: This is the subdivision within the subdivision that was
`illegally' grubbed and fine $500.00 by the county and directed to re-plant
the forest. That was years ago. Obviously, once you pay your $500.00, you
do as you wish. This is a picture taken yesterday. As you can see, no trees
have been planted. The lot has been further cleared and the potable lua is
about to be replaced by a septic tank. Evidently, a permit was given to this
ro owner without stria s.
