A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Ready to Learn is a statewide program to provide Hawai`i's need children
with basic school supplies to give them a "jump start" on learning; and
WHEREAS, Helping Hands Hawaii, located on Oahu, administers the Ready to Learn
program and in 2005 social service agencies where notified that school supplies could not be
provided to the neighbor islands; and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Place of Puna, is organizing efforts to raise funding to
provide school supplies for children in the Puna District and social service agencies serving
families throughout East Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, a $2,000.00 appropriation will be administered by the Office of the
Prosecuting Attomey, which will grant the funding to the Neighborhood Place of Puna, a
Hawaii non-profit organization, for the purchase of school supplies for children.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount be and is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth
below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $2,000.00
CREDITED TO:
010.271.5271.66 Prosecuting Attorney-Weed and Seed $2,000.00

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is hereby directed and
instructed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of
Finance, and that the Director of Finance be and is hereby authorized to make the necessary
transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
