Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Resolution No. 376-06, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 376-06, transmitted by Hawaii County Council Vice Chair Virginia Isbell, via
Communication No. 904, dated May 5, 2006, requests the Mayor and his administration to work
with Kamehameha Schools on future developments of lands mauka of the KPC Villages, LLC
parcel, to provide for completion of the proposed "Village Bypass" connector road between Ali`i
Drive and Kuakini Highway.
The resolution requests the Mayor and his administration to work with Kamehameha Schools to
ascertain whether by negotiation, friendly condemnation or developer requirement, that a
connector road be constructed between Ali`i Drive and Kuakini Highway, or in the alternative, the
reimbursement to the County of any and all costs related to said connector road.
Your Committee heard no testimony from the public regazding the proposed request. Your
Committee members voiced general support for the resolution.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution No. 376-06, and recommends its adoption.
