A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, there are three United States Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps
(JROTC) programs on the Big Island in Hilo, Kealakehe and Konawaena High School; and
WHEREAS, the United States Army JROTC is designed to teach high school students
the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, asense of
accomplishment and is to motivate young people to be better citizens; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the conflict in Iraq, funding has been greatly reduced from the
United States Army and each year there is a major funding problem for travel; and
WHEREAS, two major statewide competitions will occur on the Island of Oahu for 26
JROTC units in the State of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, funds will be used for participation in these two major events on the Island
of Oahu: the Adventure Challenge at Schofield Barracks in December 2006, and the drill meet
sponsored by Kings Guards in Apri12007.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

CREDITED TO:
010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $4,000.00

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the Cotmty of Hawaii shall
forwazd a copy of this Resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and the Director of Finance,
and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in
accordance with the terms of this resolution.
