Angel Subject: Testemony on ammendment to HCR 99-05 To Councilwoman Isbell t j Chair of the Hawaii Couty Council Finance Comittee t7~ c C`- r r I am writing to express my support for the amemdment proposed by ~ f" Councilman Pilago to Hawaii County Resolution 99-05, relating to meetings. Due to the demands of my work schedule, I am unable to attend the council meeting in person. Please give this e-mail as much weight in your mids as if I had appeared to testify in person. ; I will not re-hash all of the arguments in favor of the ammendment _ proposing that Council meetings be held in Kona on a regular basis. I wish however to state my observation that due to a number of coinciding factors, there is increasing tension on the fabric that holds the people of this County together. Anything that this council can do to alleviate that tension, and restore to the people some degree of faith in the principles of proportional and fair representation can and should be done. The people this county need Ho'o Pono Pono right now, and this council is in a position to allow them some of that by creating opportunities for those in West Hawaii to stand and be heard - not to stand in front of some electronic device or to sit at a comuter screen - but to stand before you and see your eyes as they speak the truths in their hearts. To ingonre the call for "fairness" is to further injure the fractured unity of the community. I thank you for your time in considering my opinion.
