Goal: To provide volunteer opportunities for individuals 55 year of age or older.
Final Report Highlights (copy of report available upon request):
Program Objectives: Volunteer numbers: 1,000 Volunteer Hours: 140,000
Output: Volunteer numbers: 1.781 Volunteer Hours: 182.077
Community Need Objective: RSVP volunteers will help serve congregate and home
delivered meals, or will work in support of programs providing elderly nutrition services,
elderly transportation and/or social activities.
Volunteer Stations: 16 Volunteer numbers: 500 People Served: 1.200

Volunteer Stations: 16 Volunteer numbers: 505 People Served: 1,980
Impact: Partially as a result of RSVP services, at least 85% or 1,020 elderly will
remain independent during the grant year thereby avoiding premature institutionalization.
This will be measured by Hawaii County Nutrition Program (HCNP) client termination
reports.
Outcome: Report from HCNP indicated that 93% or 1,841 elderly remained
independent thereby avoiding premature institutionalization.
