Aloha mai e Chairman Higa and Council Members,
Obviously the community has incredible support for
this initiative, and equally as obvious, the
initiative process has some real drawbacks.
Difficulties in the signature gathering details.
If we don't start setting land aside for the future
for open spaces, parks, green belts, important
cultural and other types of important lands, future
generations will have a quality of life that is
diminished by the lack of beauty and visual
environments which will help to balance the future's
hectic life.
Development is accelerating we see it all around us,
we are the last pristine island, now is the time to be
stewards and cherish the aina.
Allow the voters to decide. Or better yet, just
decide yourselves and make it so.
Aloha,
Nancy Redfather
