There are a great number of policies and pianning strategies which, if adopted and implemented, could move our island along the path toward a more prosperous and sustainable future. These issues deal with land-use planning, zoning, and development: water and ene~ gy planning; and business development. With our island so rich in material and human resources, we can increase our long-term prosperity witho~~~ c^mpromising our environment by moving in this direction. I encourage the County Council to adopt This resolution, and implement policies and ordinances based on its prinr;iples.
