The current copier which lease expires in November 2006, has been experiencing numerous paper jam problems. Comm. 1010: A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION (Res. 422-06) OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNTS(S) (transfers $41,787 out and from the Public Work's Engineering Division Salary and Wages account and credits same to the Finance Department's Property Management Salary and Wages account for the new Land Agent position) From Finance Director William Takaba, dated August 4, 2006, transmitting the above resolution. In the current fiscal year's operating budget, funds were appropriated to create a new Land Agent position within the Department of Public Works' Engineering Division. Upon further discussions between the Administration and the Department of Civil Service, it was decided that position of the Land Agent would be more appropriately placed in the Department of Finance's Property Management Division. FC-41 Page 3 August 22, 2006 Comm. 1011: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER (Res. 423-06) FISCAL YEAR AND MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC PARKING AND BUS STOP/SHELTER IN KEALAKEKUA, SOUTH KONA, TMK (3) 8-1-01:005 AND 006 (to construct a temporary off-street public parking lot and a bus stop facility) From Finance Director William Takaba, dated August 4, 2006, transmitting the above resolution. This five-year lease between the County of Hawaii and the Revocable Trust of Fusae Kamigaki, will allow County to construct a temporary off-street public parking lotto aid in the replacement of the undesirable on-street perpendicular parking fronting the Kona Hongwanji Mission that the Department would like to remove; and to construct a bus stop facility that will include a bus stop/turn-out and bus shelter. The bus turn-out area will remove the traffic congestion caused by buses stopping in the thru travel lanes. Comm. 1012: RESOLUTION CREATING A CLERK III POSITION FOR THE OFFICE OF THE (Res. 424-06) CORPORATION COUNCIL From Finance Director William Takaba, dated August 7, 2006, transmitting the above resolution. Due to today's litigious climate, the duties of the support staff are increasing. Also, introduction of the new document management system revealed need for an increase in clerical personnel. In addition, the role of the legal clerk is evolving into a more legally challenging responsibilities. Comm. 1013: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF (Res. 425-06) STATE FUNDING APPROPRIATED BY THE STATE LEGISLATURE PURSUANT TO ACT 160, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 2006, FOR THE COQUI FROG ERADICATION AND CONTROL EFFORTS BY THE COUNTY OF HAWAII; and (Bill 323) AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 06-79, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2007 (appropriates $I million to the Coqui Frog Eradication and Control account) From Mayor Harry Kim, dated August 7, 2006, transmitting the above resolution and bill. The funds will be used for Coqui frog infestations and assistance to communities; a mini-grant program for community Coqui eradication efforts; and Coqui Frog Work Group Partner's efforts.
