A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) TO FUND NECESSARY STAFF FOR
INCREASED COUNCIL MEETINGS IN WEST HAWAII BEGINNING JANUARY
2007 PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION 402-06 (Draft 4)
WHEREAS, public participation in government is the cornerstone of a healthy Democracy;
and
WHEREAS, increasing the number of Council meetings in West Hawaii will undoubtedly
facilitate public participation in West Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, increasing the number of Council meetings in West Hawaii will require
additional staff and other related costs not yet identified; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost to fund necessary staff is $84,100; and
WHEREAS, there is strong public interest in and support for increasing Council meetings in
West Hawaii.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below
pursuant to Resolution 402-06 (Draft 4) to fund the additional staff and other related expenses
required for its implementation:

CREDITED TO:
010.101.5101.02 Clerk-Council Svc Oce $9,345.00
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
forward a copy of this resolution to the Director of the Department of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make to necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
