Aloha, Committee members,
Please don't saddle the Big Island with more bad air and other environmental problems.
we don't want our children to breathe dioxins, pay for an incinerator even when we run out of
garbage to feed it. Then there are the breakdowns...
There are better ways to handle and reduce waste. We've only touched the surface with
recycling. Education, and taxing businesses like Walmart and Kmart (who import and sell huge
quantities of plastic non-recylcables) and taxing those goods (which fill our landfills) are
just some of the ways we can help to reduce consumption.
Let's move towards zero waste by reducing, reusing and recycling.
Please vote against having a waste incinerator on Hawaii Island.
