To the Hawaii County Council Planning Committee
And Members of the Hawaii County Council
Re: Concurrency Bills 318 A 319 introduced by Councilman Pete Hoffman
I urge you all to support Bill 318 & Bill 319 which will mitigate the impact of traffic and
mitigate our water supply by requiring concurrency with proposed changes of zone
applications as well as for large scale subdivisions and condominium regimes.
It is necessary to manage our growth and coordinate it with government services, not to
allow it to speed on unsupervised without full concern for the public's welfare.
Large scale developments proposed in a particular area need to be assessed considering
many factors including how much public infrastructure is challenged by recent or
anticipated growth in that area.
