RESOLUTION NO. 45~
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF TWELVE (12) POST
PADS AND FIFTEEN (15) BLEACHER PADS FOR THE ANDREWS GYM
WHEREAS, the Andrews Athletic Association would like to donate twelve (12) post pads and fifteen (15)
bleacher pads for the Andrews Gym; and
WHEREAS, the post pads will be used to cover the gym support posts and the bleacher pads will be
used to cover the top of the first bleacher level; and
WHEREAS, the pads, with a total estimated value of $3,417.35, will ensure the safety of the children
being that the bleachers and posts are very close to the baselines;
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Wayne Yamauchi, President.
Andrews Athletic Association, 546 Mohouli Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
