We, the undersigned, strongly urge the Hawaii County Council to approve funding the salary increases for HGEA Units 03 & 04. We thank Council Representatives James Arakaki (3rd Dist. Upper Waiakea), Aaron Chung (4th Dist. Lower Waiakea, Keaukaha), and AI Smith (5th Dist. Lower Puna) who voted in favor of funding the salary increases and ask their continued support. We ask that the following Council Representatives who voted against funding the salary increases to please re-consider and vote in favor of the salary increases: Bobby Jean Leithead-Todd (2nd Dist. Downtown Hilo, Kaumana), Joe Reynolds (7th Dist. Central Kona), Dominic Yagong (1st Dist. Hamakua Coast), John Ray (9th Dist. North & South Kohala), John Santangelo (6th Dist. Upper Puna, Kau, Southern Kona), and J. Curtis Tyler (8th Dist. Northern Kona) Negotiators bargained with the Employers in good faith for over a year. The employers made an offer which was accepted by the negotiators, and the members felt it was a fair settlement for everyone involved. Consequently, the negotiators for Units 03 and 04 brought the proposed contract back to the members who overwhelmingly approved it. We hope we are correct in understanding that funds have been set aside iri'ilae County budget for these salaries and increases; therefore, we appreciate rc~ ~ consideration to vote in favor of the proposal. Thank you. _ - ~;t Dao~ liu S~z'• ~b Cp(JNc~L mot. a~~-"_'.~l 1s~T'_ mot. rite DEC 1 12-12-1997 04~02PM FROM TO 99616657 P.03 ' PETITION FOR FUNDING SALARY INCREASES FOR HGEA UNITS 03 8 04 (PLEASE COMPLETE IN INK) 1.L~ n« -Ui'~rtiw '7~~~U' ~e~.~ ~ ~IGhr.~ r~ ~r~t~ 2. ~5Cua1 ~ 1 (~Q. ~t a~~~ ~ P~ 3. 4. -P. ,vim -r' a ~oti';.r~ ~v: v~~..> - 5. ~c-I/inn F_n ~~~~°1m~~, r ~ t 5') ~ JG Ii % ~ n, 6.Id~i~lee~~ C`w~e~o ae'a5 le~7a-(o« 17~' u:lu lit 96x, ~ ~C 7. ~G~U~e- YH,,O riuc inn tq"1 N6N Ifi_i ~U f!I ~b ~~Lti~ }t2 vim!-_ .,irl ~ANtW T'AkAwl~ 3b+N ~tDIAVI~ PI. rhlD i Y ~ '.6.
