Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 422-06, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 422-06, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 1010, dated August 4, 2006, transfers funds as follows:
From:
010-183-5183.01 Engineering Division S&W General $41,787
To:
010-121.5129.01 Property Management S&W General $41,787
In the current fiscal year's operating budget, funds were appropriated to create a new Land Agent
position within the Department of Public Works' Engineering Division. Upon further
discussions between the Administration and the Department of Civil Service, it was decided that
position of the Land Agent would be more appropriately placed in the Department of Finance's
Property Management Division.
Nancy Crawford, Deputy Finance Director, explained that the Land Agent's primary job would
be to acquire property where roads would be build or widened. As many of the County projects
are Federally funded, it takes a trained and experienced person for this position.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 422-06
and recommends its adoption.
