No. 993/Bill No. 317 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> <br /> TIME: 12:10 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred <br /> Bill No. 317, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 317, transmitted by Bruce C. McClure, Director of Public Works, via Communication No. <br /> 993, dated July 18, 2006, proposes a 3-way stop at the intersection of Middle Ke`ei Road and <br /> Painted Church Road. Existing sight distance for motorists entering Middle Ke`ei Road from <br /> Painted Church Road is 120 feet right and 170 feet left. Intersection sight distance requirements <br /> for 20 miles per hour speed are 222 feet and 276 feet for 25 mile per hour speed. The proposed <br /> stop will be a temporary measure until intersection improvements are completed. <br /> The purpose of this bill is to amend Chapter 24, Article 10, Section 24-264, Schedule 12 (stop <br /> intersections), subsection (f) Kona, of the Hawaii County Code 1983, (2005 Edition, as amended), <br /> by adding the following (to be appropriately numbered): <br /> O Middle Ke`ei Road, Painted Church Road intersection, <br /> all approaches. <br /> There was no testimony from the public regarding the proposed bill. Mr. Ron Thiel, Traffic <br /> Division Supervisor, Department of Public Works, was present during the meeting, but was not <br /> called upon for questions or comments.
