RESOLUTION NO. ~i8:~ 06
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Visitors Bureau (HIVB) is a SOlc6 nonprofit
organization whose purpose is to promote the Island of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, HIVB has established cone-year public relations agreement with
Natascha Badmann, six-time Ironman winner, to be the "Official Ambassador for Hawai`i's
Big Island as a tourism destination"; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Badmann will promote the Big Island as "Hawai`i's Island of
Adventure" through photographs of her training on the Big Island, autographed posters,
public appearances, press releases, etc.; and
WHEREAS, monies are needed to cover the costs for accommodations, travel
expenses, photographs, design and printing of the poster, and other related expenses for the
promotional campaign; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the
Department of Research and Development to be used as a grant towards HIVB's "Hawai`i's
Island of Adventure" promotion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set
forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $10,000.00
CREDITED TO:
010.161.5161.60 Department of Research and Development $10,000.00

(HIVB Natascha Badmann Adventure Promotion)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
