RESOLUTION NO. !1~'
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, a $3,800 appropriation will be used by Friends of the Park, on behalf of the
Department of Parks and Recreation, to fund the installation of a community mural at the Kohala
Pool; and
WHEREAS, the nine-foot by twelve-foot mural was created by over 200 students at
Pa`auilo, Honoka`a, Waimea, and Kohala Elementary Schools; and
WHEREAS, the mural depicts Hawai`i's volcanoes, atmospheric layers, forest birds, and
undersea world as seen through the eyes of the children who painted it; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has accepted the donation of this
community mural and selected a suitable location at Kohala Pool to display the artwork; and
WHEREAS, funds will be used to weatherproof the mural and install it in an attractive wood
frame for permanent display at the pool; and
WHEREAS, the mural will enhance the appearance of the Kohala Pool and serve as a source
of pride for the youngsters who created this artwork when they see it on public display at their
community pool.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount be and is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth
below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is hereby directed and
instructed to forwazd a copy of this resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance be and is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms
of this resolution.
