HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 484 Draft 01 2004-2006 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 484 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF TAX MAP KEY: (3)7-6-013:017 AS A REMNANT PARCEL. WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is the owner of that certain parcel of land, being Lot 1, between Kailua-Keauhou Road and Kailua-Keauhou Middle Road, at Holualoa 1st and 2nd, North Kona, Hawaii, further identified as Tax Map Key: (3)7-6-013:017; and WHEREAS, Lot 1 is roughly triangular in shape, contains an area of 1.002 acres, and more particularly described in Exhibit "A" and delineated on Exhibit "B" attached; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii acquired the parcel on January 6, 1969 from L. S. Dillingham, C.W. Cazlsmith, B.F. Dillingham, and Donn W. Cazlsmith, for the proposed Kailua Fire Station site; and WHEREAS, in 1973, the County constructed a new Kailua Fire Station on Palani Road; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii does not have plans to utilize Lot 1 for any of its programs; and WHEREAS, the parcel is economically or physically unsuitable or undesirable for development or utilization as a sepazate unit by reason of its location, size, shape, or other characteristics, in accordance with Section 2-110(3), Hawaii County Code; and WHEREAS, the adjoining landowner, Inter Pacific Motors, Inc., has expressed an interest in acquiring this parcel; and WHEREAS, the proceeds from the sale of this pazcel maybe used to fund other Kona initiatives; and WHEREAS, the County Council may authorize the director of finance to dispose of remnant lots pursuant to Sections 2-111 and 2-118, Hawaii County Code; and WHEREAS, the County Council previously authorized the sale of this pazcel under Resolution 104-03 (Draft 2), which is superseded by this resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that Tax Map Key: (3)7-6-013:017 is a remnant parcel as defined in Section 2-110(3), Hawaii County Code, and the finance director is authorized to sell the parcel pursuant to Section 2-118, Hawaii County Code. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proceeds from the sale be used for future Kona projects. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is directed to transmit copies of this resolution to: (1) Mayor Harry Kim; (2) Finance Director William Takaba; and (3) Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase.
