RE: Support for Bill No. 309 (Amendment E-4)
Dear Chair Higa, Vice Chair Isbell and members of the County Council.
I am in support of Jacoby Development's plans for a mixed use marina. 1 have
been in the outdoor recreation field and sport fishing industry for most of my
career.
This community has asked for and needs an expanded marina for several
decades. With strong leadership from this County and the public-private
partnership, Jacoby Development's mixed use marina will fulfil the needs of our
community and be a model for environmentally sustainable development.
This General Plan amendment E-4 is exactly the right development for a well-
planned urban expansion area on these lands.
I ask you to pass Bill 309 (Amendment E-4) and make the General Plan
amendment changing all the DLNR land adjacent to the Honokohau Small Boat
Harbor, including the Kona Kai Ola project site, from "Open" to "Urban Expansion
Area."
