Subject: Support for Bill No. 309 (Amendment E-4)
Dear Chair Higa and Members of the Hawaii County Council:
As a successful Kona sport fishing captain and a resident of Kona for over 23
years, I support Jacoby Development and its plans for a well-planned mixed-use
marina facility on the lands surrounding Honokohau.
This marina development has the potential of bringing world-wide attention to
Kona, its tourism industry and garner huge economic possibilities for our island
residents.
I ask you to pass Bill 309 (Amendment E-4) and make the General Plan
amendment changing all the DLNR land adjacent to the Honokohau Small Boat
Harbor, including the Kona Kai Ola project site, from "Open" to "Urban
Expansion Area."
