Dear Chairman Higa and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the Hawai'i County Fire
Commission:
Council District 1 - Stephen P. Bowles is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. Since 1969, he
has been employed by Island Resources as a hydro-geologist. Mr. Bowles is a member
of the Waimea Community Association's Traffic Safety Committee, Planning Committee
and Community Planned Development Committee. He is also a member of the Waimea
Water Round Table. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Bowles served as a member of this
commission, representing Council District 9. He states that he is not affiliated with any
political party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2010.
Council District 7 - Mr. Bill Rosehill is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. He is a retired land
manager/forester. Mr. Rosehill is the president of the Kona Athletic Club, a member of
the Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association and a board member of Moku O Hawai'i. He
states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to
expire on December 31, 2010.
