RESOLUTION NO. 4`3'7 06
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the year 2006 mazks the 100-year anniversazy of the arrival of the first Filipino
immigrant workers, or Sakadas, to Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the yeaz-long celebration of Filipinos in Hawai `i -100 Years and Beyond, will
culminate with a "Filipino Fiesta" on November 4, 2006 at the Edith Kanaka`ole Tennis Stadium; and
WHEREAS, the Big Island Filipino Community Council is planning a Filipino Centennial
Celebration Parade in downtown Hilo to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the arrival of the
Filipino people in Hawaii, their significant contributions to the development of this State, and their
culture and heritage; and
WHEREAS, the $5,500.00 appropriation will be administered by the Department of Reseazch
and Development, which will grant the funding to the Big Island Filipino Community Council, a
Hawaii non-profit organization, for the provision of Special Duty Police Officers to direct traffic
during the Filipino Centennial Celebration Pazade.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that the following amount be and is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is hereby directed and instructed
to forwazd a copy of this resolution to the Director of the Department of Reseazch & Development and
the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance be and is hereby authorized to make the
necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
