RESOLUTION NO. 501 06
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii has one of the largest growing populations of elderly
citizens in the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, the Hamakua area of our County contains a high population of elderly
citizens requiring a myriad of services; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Office of Aging has expressed a sincere desire to create
a Hamakua Eldercare Resource Center, for the purpose of establishing a "one-stop shop" center
for eldercare services, information and programs; and
WHEREAS, this proposed eldercare resource center would be part of a very strong
eldercaze, health and education complex, as it would be located near Hale Ho`ola Hamakua
Long-term Care facility, North Hilo Education and Resource Center and the Hamakua Health
Center; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Aging has requested funding in the amount of $5,000 to
continue the planning process for the Hamakua Eldercare Resource Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to
make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
