Subject: Moving the Council Meeting to Hilo
To the members of the council,
I have just found out that the council meeting scheduled for Tuesday in Kona has been
changed to Hilo. How are we to give public testimony to the council when everything is
geared toward Hilo. I work full time and have to take off work as it is to testify but to
go to Hilo is out of the question.
I wanted to testify about the proposed F-2 Amendment to the General Plan Land Use Pattern
because it will change almost 100-acres above Kealakekua Bay from "Important Agriculture
Land Use Designation to "Rural" Land use. It is pretty obvious that rural means
development.
I want to preserve what is left of the agricultural land in South Kona. This was expressed
in the long range General Plan of February 2005.
Please DELETE the F-2 Amendment from Bill 309. Let's try and keep a little bit of Kona
country.
Please try and have meetings here so that we can testify in person to the council.
Thanks
Gwendolyn Jones
