Subject: Submitting Testimony on Bill 309
Testimony on Bill 309 to the County Council,
I request that the Big Island Hawaii County Council vote no to Bill 309 (E-4, F-2) that would allow inappropriate
development on the Kealakekua Bay pali and around Honokohau Harbor.
Passing this bill would only aggravate/increase/intensify the difficulties Kona residents are already experiencing..... daily
problems which include traffic delays, exorbitant housing costs, and change of life style.
It is my understanding that the Hawaii County Council agreed to a Kona public hearing so, may I ask, why is
this meeting being held in Hilo? Equally indefensible, why is it being held on a week day when others, like myself, are at
work unable to attend?
I have lived in Kona since 1975. I care about Kona. How many of you can say the same? If you do care, then vote NO to
Bill 309.
