Grant Period (Commencement & Completion): July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006
Goals: To continue to obtain a high amount of paternity judgments; to improve child support
obligations; and to educate the community, including schools, legal and social
organizations, concerning paternity and child support.
Objectives: To establish paternity; to collect child support debts owed to the State of Hawaii and
custodial parents; to continue to improve staff productivity on the KEIKI system; to
provide updates and training to staff members on changes in federal requirements,
paternity establishment, child support establishment, enforcement, distribution and
interstate case processing; and to educate public and private agencies/persons
regarding changes to the patternity and child support laws.
Results: The division collected over $448,128 in child support debts during fiscal year 2005-06.
The division also initiated 419 paternity cases, established 287 paternity judgments, and
recorded 391 Voluntary Establishment of Paternity (VEb~ s
~s uring this period.
