RE: Resolution designating Hawaii Island Visitors Bureau as the intended recipient of
appropriated funds in the Department of Research and Development's Tourism
Promotion Account.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the designation of $550,000 to the Hawaii Island Visitors
Bureau, which was the intent of Ordinance 06-79, the Operating Budget. The Department of
Finance, Purchasing Division has determined that Ordinance No. 06-79 did not specify that the
Hawaii Island Visitors Bureau was the recipient. This resolution will rectify this situation.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,
Stacy K. Higa, Chair
Hawaii County Council

Re: (Resolution No. 524-06 : Designating Hawaii Island Visitors Bureau as the
Intended Recipient of Appropriated Funds in Research and Development's

Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this
matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the
matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance Committee
for placement on its future agenda.
Sinc~ely,
