Re: Committee Request
I would like to request time within the Human Services and Economic Development Committee for a
presentation by the Hawaiian Utility Co-op (HUCO).
The brunt of the presentation will focus on a new alternative energy source known as "PowerNet".
HUCO would also like to discuss its plans for a mass transit system known as the "Super Rail", which
would be powered by their "PowerNet" system.
HUCO's major goals are energy independence, energy exportation and eventually the creation of the
most advanced mass transit public utility system available.
Time has already been set aside for HSEDC to meet on November 14, 2006 to discuss the year-end
reports provided by recipients of County awarded grant money. I would ask that another 30 minutes be
added to our request to allow HUCO to make their presentation to the HSEDC on that day.
