Holschuh, M. <br /> ~JJ ~C <br /> Council Member <br /> RE: Bill No. 258, Draft 3 <br /> Proposed Change to Effective Date <br /> <br /> With consideration for those agencies, departments and other entities that will require some time <br /> to transition to a new and different set of regulations regarding animal control, I would like to <br /> amend Bill 258, Draft 3 to read: <br /> <br /> "SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall take effect [upen its appreval] March 11.2007." <br /> <br /> This amendment, provided it is accepted by Council, should provide ample time for any agency, <br /> department or other entity to become familiar with any changes from our current code and then <br /> apply new protocols and infrastructure as required to satisfy any alterations from our current <br /> regulations. <br /> <br /> I am proposing the l lth of March, rather than March 1, due to the fact that the Finance <br /> Department will be distributing approximately 8,500 requests for renewals next month for dog <br /> licenses expiring on December 31. Dog owners will have until March 10 to renew.
