CALL TO ORDER STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ITEMS ON THE AGENDA REFERRALS Comm. 1161: RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OF AN (Res. 507-06) OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE RIDING FACILITY 1N THE HAMAKUA DISTRICT (seeks Council support for the creation of anOff-Highway Vehicle [OHV] riding facility in Hamakua. OHV's include Motor Cycles intended for off-road use, commonly known as Dirt Bikes, and All-Terrian Vehicles, commonly known as ATV's or Quads). From Councilman Fred Holschuh, dated October 3, 2006, transmitting the above resolution. States that the influx of the OHV has caused numerous issues including but not limited to illegal riding that scars land features, conflicts among neighbors and most important and urgent, serious injuries and fatalities when operated inappropriately on public and private roadways and lands.
