RESOLUTION NO. 5:35 U~
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF STATE FUNDING
APPROPRIATED BY THE STATE LEGISLATURE PURSUANT TO ACT 100, SESSION LAWS OF
HAWAII 2006, TO PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR THE HOMELESS AND
DISABLED
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Legislature enacted Act 100, Session Laws of Hawaii 2006, which
appropriated, in part, $80,000 to the County of Hawai`i's Department of Parks and Recreation and to be
used for transportation services for the homeless and disabled; and
WHEREAS, the Elderly Activities Division will use these funds to purchase two (2) minivans for the
transportation services; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain the
consent of the council to receive and expend any funds or other assistance from the federal or state
governments in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to any powers granted by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
authorizes the receipt and expenditure of funds for non-school hour programs for children and youth,
pursuant to Act 100, Session Laws of Hawaii 2006.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of
this resolution to the Departments of Finance and Parks and Recreation.
