RESOLUTION NO. 534 (96
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF AN ASSORTMENT OF
EQUIPMENT TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Waikoloa Village Association has donated an assortment of equipment to the Hawaii
Fire Department's Waikoloa Fire Station; and
WHEREAS, the equipment, which includes a mobile radio, a 1200 watt worklight, and a Stihl chainsaw &
sharpener and has an estimated total value of $1,483.96, was donated as a token of their appreciation for the
efforts of the department in fighting the wildfire of August 2005; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution and a letter of appreciation be sent to
the Waikoloa Village Association, P.O. Box 383910, Waikoloa, Hawaii 96738, acknowledging this generous
donation.
