Re: Operating Budget _ cn
The State of Hawai'i Legislature enacted Act 100, Session Laws of Hawai'i 2006, which
appropriated, in part, $80,000 to the County of Hawai'i Department of Parks and Recreation's
Elderly Activities Division for transportation for the homeless and disabled. The funds will be
used to purchase two (2) minivans to provide transportation services to the elderly homeless and
disabled.
Enclosed is a resolution for the Council's authorization to receive and expend state funding,
pursuant to Act 100, Session Laws of Hawai'i 2006.
Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the
$80,000.

A. REQUEST:
Prepare a resolution for Council's authorization to receive and expend State funding to purchase two mini
vans.
Appropriate these State funds of $80,000.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The State of Hawai'i Legislature enacted Act 100 at its regular 2006 session which appropriated $80,000 to
the Department of Parks and Recreation Elderly Activities Division. Funds will be used to purchase two mini
vans to provide transportation services to the disabled and elderly homeless.
