A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Na Kalai Wa`a Moku o Hawaii is an education based 501(c)3 non-
profit organization dedicated to foster appreciation of the Hawaiian culture and creating
educational opportunities relating to traditional canoe building, navigation and voyaging
skills; and
WHEREAS, Na Kalai Wa`a Moku o Hawaii promotes drug prevention and youth
anti-violence awareness through aquatic programs and hands-on participation
throughout all stages of traditional canoe building process; and
WHEREAS, collaborative participants in the program include students of the
Marimed Foundation, Kanu O Ka `Aina Charter School and Punana Leo O Waimea; and
WHEREAS, funding is necessary for the purchase of supplies and equipment to
enable Na Kalai Wa`a Moku o Hawaii to continue its drug prevention and youth anti-
violence awareness through aquatic programs, traditional canoe building, navigational
and voyaging education; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to be used as a grant towards Na Kalai Wa`a
Moku o Hawaii.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set
forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall forward a copy of this resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of
Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary
transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
