To County Council Members.
I live on Napoopoo Rd in South Kona and commute into Kailua-Kona most days.
I have requested the Council to Delete the F-2 Amendment from Bill 309 several times but
it seems to continue to be pushed along by bureaucrats that do NOT live in our community.
I continue to send my strong request not to spoil this rare and beautiful natural environment
and agricultural land by rezoning from Important Agriculture to Rural.
Aside from creating more unnecessary congestion in an already overcrowded area, this
rezoning will open the way for development that will contribute to a much greater increase
in the likelihood of pollution into the precious landscape and and waters of Kealakekua
Bay.
Despite a large outpouring of testimony received from many district residents requesting
that this bill be deleted, it continues to move forward towards a final reading. Is there some
agenda that we are not privy to? Why are you not listening to the concerns of the citizens
that will be impacted by your decision?
I request that Bill 309 brought to Kona for a hearing by the newly elected council.
I ask for your vote to DELETE the F-2 Amendment from Bill 309.
Thank you for your consideration.
