A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Palace Theater will present the 5~' Annual Hilo Chinese New
Year Festival on February 16 and 17, 2007; and
WHEREAS, on Friday, February 16, 2007, Lion Dancers will parade through Downtown
Hilo and join Chinese musicians and dancers at the Palace Theater; and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, February 17, 2007, the Festival will feature food, information,
performances and demonstrations at Kalakaua Park. These activities blend the best of Hawaiian and
Chinese cultures and bring visitors and residents together to celebrate the two cultures; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the
Department of Research and Development to be used as a grant towards the Friends of the Palace
Theater for the 5`h Annual Hilo Chinese New Year Festiva].
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $5,000.00
CREDITED TO:
010.161.5161.60 Department of Research and Development $5,000.00

New Year Festival)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Finance and the Director of Research and Development and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
