Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Resolution No. 448-06, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 448-06, transmitted by Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase via
Communication No. 1055, dated August 31, 2006, authorizes acceptance of roadway lots in the
Kikala-Keokea Residential Subdivision in Puna, Island, County and State of Hawaii.
The owner, the State of Hawaii, is desirous of transferring the subject properties to the County of
Hawaii.
Article XIII, § 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council may accept land on
behalf of the County of Hawaii.
There was no testimony from members of the public regarding the proposed acceptance.
There was no discussion amongst your Committee members regarding the proposed acceptance.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution No. 448-06 and recommends its adoption.
