Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 352, reports as follows:
Bill No. 352, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 492-06 by Director of Finance William Takaba, via
Communication No. 1134, dated October 10, 2006, amends Ordinance No. 06-79, as amended, the
Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2007. The amendment is as follows:

These funds from the State of Hawaii Legislature enacted Act 281, Session Laws of Hawaii 2006 will
be used by the Recreation Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation for Spring Intersession
programs in communities where 50% or more of the school students are eligible for free or reduced lunch
and for Tour the Island Sport Clinics and camping trips in each of the five recreational districts: South
Hilo, Hamakua/North Hilo/Rural South Hilo, North/South Kohala, Kona, and Puna/Ka`u.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County Charter, the
Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for aNon-School Hour Programs.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 352 and recommends it
pass first reading.
