Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 360, reports as follows:
Bill No. 360, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 1181,
dated October 26, 2006, amends Ordinance No. 06-79, as amended, the Operating Budget,
ending June 30, 2007. The amendment is as follows:

010.201.5219.32 Narcotics Task Force General $3,699
The Police Department will be receiving additional funds from the State of Hawaii Department
of the Attorney General's Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division for the interdiction
of drugs within the County of Hawaii via the apprehension/arresUconviction of the individuals
smuggling narcotics into/within our island.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County
Charter, the Mayor is already authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for this
program identified in the Operating Budget.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 360 and
recommends it pass first reading.
