Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 487-06, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 487-06, transmitted by Council Member Virginia Isbell, via Communication No.
1123, dated October 4, 2006, seeks to approve the development of an audit schedule based on a
risk assessment analysis by the Legislative Auditor's Office to methodically conduct audits of
various departments and activities of the County of Hawaii.
This measure proposes to approve the development of an audit schedule based on a risk
assessment analysis by the Legislative Auditor's Office to aid the office in the efficient
allocation of its audit resources. Also, the Legislative Auditor's Office may initiate further
examination into concerns that may arise during the course of each scheduled audit review
beyond the scope and objectives adopted by the audit schedule, departmental requests or a
Council resolution.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 487-06
and recommends its adoption.
