I / We are in SUPPORT of RESOLUTION # 427-06 To direct the Mayor Kim, the County of Hawaii, and his administration to begin negotiations with the Waipio Lookout, TMK # 3-4-8-004-006 ("Rice" Property / Owner of Record) for acquisition by the County of Hawaii. YOUR SUPPORT is Vital to the protection and preservation of all Historic, Cultural, and Environmentally Significant Areas within our County, in the best interest of all current Residents and for the enjoyment of future generations It is also vital for the protection and continued development (or future "Non Development thereof") of any area of environmental significance which would preserve and protect the economic enaine that drives our economy, ie. Tourism. Any Further Losses will have a cumulative impact on our Quality of Life as Residents, and on our economy, unless we begin the process today, to preserve and protect these unique areas of importance. In addition, this parcel has also been identified by the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission with an 83% Rating for Acquisition. Therefore: We urge your consideration and support for the above resolution. AT THIS POINT, We would like to give our sincere "MAHALO", to everyone who has been involved in spearheading this Project, from concept and inception, through to this Council Resolution, and Mayor Kim and the Council for considering and approving this Resolution.
