HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 1120.003 2004-2006 Oct. 26, 2006 To: Hawaii County Council Finance Committee From: Kona Vistas Homeowners Association Council members, t~4 -ECG The Kona Vistas Homeowners Association supports Resolution 56=06, (Sale of remnant parcel to Orchid Isle Ford) with the following considerations. 1. Ensure that Walua Rd. north of Lako Street stays permanently closed to vehicle traffic so the only access to the parcel is through the Ford dealership. Walua Rd. should remain a green belt. 2. Once the parcel is sold to Orchid Isle Ford, it should be annexed to become a single property so that it cannot later be leased or resold and developed separately. 3. Any buildings constructed on the lot will not obstruct the views of owners on Kamehamalu St. (limit the height) 4. If the area is rezoned to allow the use as a shop for the auto dealership there must be restrictions on the noise level so as not to interfere with the peaceful enjoyment of the homes in Kona Vistas. 5. If the use of this property significantly increases the amount of traffic entering and exiting Orchid Isle Ford there must be traffic controls to avoid conflicts with the increased traffic on Lako Street once it is completed and opened. 6. Restrict parking on Lako St. so that cars are not parked there all day. Make the parking for the users of the recreation trail. (Perhaps a 2 hr limit???) Also, please consider that should the walking/bicycle trail eventually extend north across Lako St., a crosswalk needs to be constructed for pedestrian safety and for traffic calming on Lako St. A crosswalk would also be good since the trail intersection is a school bus stop and some of the children must cross Lako St. Respectfully, Kona Vistas Homeowners Board Of Directors Jack Alexander, President Karen Witesman, Vice President Bruce Brooks, Treasurer Susan Decker, Director Derinda Thatcher, Director Sherrie Stuart, Director 120.3 Comm.
