Driving conditions on the access road are potentially hazardous. This road is steep and narrow with minimal places to pull over for disabled vehicles. The Kukuihalele Community Association has received complaints from local residents expressing concern that allowing access to AWD vehicles on the access road and in the Valley creates a danger to other vehicles. Three of the Association's officers participate on the committee to create a Waipio ranger position. A primary long term objective of this committee is to limit the amount of vehicular traffic into the valley by providing information to tourists and residents from other parts of our island. Driving into the valley with vehicles not suitable for the access road and valley floor is contrary to committee's efforts. Please support the requested action of Dr, Holschuh, Dominic Yagong, and the residents of Kukuihaele. Vote yes on Bill 357. Mahalo for your consideration.
