RE: (DISAPPROVAL) Bill # 258
"Animal Control"
Hawaii County Council Members,
This Bill should specifically state "enforceable only on residential
properties." Raising live stock and farm animals is an accepted-use on all
Agricultural Lands. State law protects the Right to Farm Act, whether
for commercial or family farm-use. We already have sufficient laws
regarding animal nuisance and barking dogs, increasing the fines and
punishment will not improve the situation. In fact it will create more
animosity among neighbors and eventually erode the mutual respect of
private property. This Bill has many flaws and carries the potential
of creating a lot of problems in the future.
Please vote NO on this Bill # 258.
