H.I.P.A. was formed in 1998 and we have just completed our 8th full <br /> season. We have over 275 active members from all adult age groups and a growing youth <br /> program. <br /> We support Jacoby Development and its plans for a mix-use marina facility, on these <br /> lands surrounding Honokohau. Kona needs this marina, not only for additional boating <br /> needs, but for ocean recreational opportunities like H.I.P.A Our Sport is expected to grow <br /> tremendously over the next 5 years and Jacoby Development's plans for a new Marina <br /> will provide recreational ocean users is home within this project. <br /> Outside of the new marina, Jacoby Development wants to help this community solve <br /> issues mciuding roads, water, and sewer Their plans to build Kuakini Highway extension <br /> as part of the tirst phase is critical to relieve traffic and start to answer our community's <br /> cry for infrastructure. <br /> <br /> Bill 309 (Amendment F.-4) will change all tht DLNR land adjacent to the Honokohau <br /> Small Boat Harbor from "Open" to "Urban Expansion Area."
