Re: My Opposition of Tradewinds' Plans to Build a Veneer
Mill & Power Plant at the O'okala Sugar Mill Site
As I am at present incapacitated due to my illness and lingering
eye problem, please allow me to take this means to express my
feelings to all of you.
Most of us are retirees in O'okala. We have worked all our lives
earning a living and successfully raising our families.
We have enjoyed many years of tranquility and laid-back life style,
which we truly deserve, since the closure of the sugar mill.
To possibly lose all that we now have would have an adverse effect
on us "old timers." Most of us are struggling with all sorts of
illnesses and any added stress will not be conducive to our health.
Rarely do we travel. This is our home ...our beautiful paradise.
Please let us enjoy the few remaining years of our lives in peace.
We feel we are entitled to make decisions for our own community.
It is NOT people like Mr. Don Bryan, who stated at a meeting that
HE HAD PLANS FOR THE O'OKALA COMMUNITY.
I urge the County Council to consider wisely before making any
rash decisions. Remember! The people who elected you are your
top priority... not developers whose main purpose is to make money.
Any other/si`t_e/,~E,X/CEPT the O'okala sugar mill site is acceptable.
