Dear Council members:
After reviewing Bill 309 more closely I am writing to request you postpone any further hearings
or decisions on this Bill until the Community Development Plan has been completed. Too
much is happening on the Big Island without proper planning. The Community Development
Plans are supposed to be used to help address problems in the various communities on the
Big Island as well as to effect proper planning for the future of each community as a result of
community input. Please do not push this Bill through before the results of the Community
Development Plans are reviewed. This would be in direct conflict with what we've been told
about the reasons for these CDPs.
