Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 534-06, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 534-06, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 1208, dated November 13, 2006, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Waikoloa
Village Association.
The Waikoloa Village Association has graciously donated a mobile radio, a 1200 watt worklight,
and a 5tih1 chainsaw & sharpener to the Hawaii County Fire as a token of their appreciation for
the efforts of the department in fighting the wildfire of August 2005. The value of this donation
is estimated at $1,483.96.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Waikoloa Village Association, P.O. Box 383910,
Waikoloa, Hawaii 96738, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 534-06
and recommends its adoption.
