Dear Chairperson Arakaki anti Members:
Reference is made to my letl=er of May 1, 1998 transmitting a
proposed plan for the disposition of the former Hamakua Sugar
Company, Inc. lands now under County ownership.
In addition to those properi:ies listed on Exhibit "B" of the
proposed plan, our departments have also proposed the following:
1. A land exchange with the private property owners for those
certain portions of Tax Map Keys: 3rd/4-4-02:05 and
3rd/4-4-09:03, 04 and 08 which are required for the
proposed Kalopa Sand Gulch By-Pass Road Project;
2. A three way land exchange between the State of Hawaii, the
private property owners, and the County of Hawaii for
those certain parcels of land contained within the
ahupua'a of Honokaia and further identified as Tax Map
Keys: 3rd/4-6-03:03, 04, 07, 10, 12, 13, 15 and 16 and
3rd/4-6-04:04 and 07; i3nd
3. A land exchange with the private property owners for those
certain portions of Ta:c Map Key: 3rd/2-6-09:22 which are
required for the construction of a new water tank and for
the realignment of a portion of the Kaiwiki Road.
